As one of the earliest engineers to join Ruckus you’ll be working closely with the team to help prove the gameplay on our first project. Your primary focus will be helping art and design understand what’s possible under resource and technical constraints, and providing feature, system, and tools implementations that balance speed and robustness. In the shorter term you’ll likely be focused on things like movement, combat, inventory, environment interaction, AI, physics, and/or world building tools. You’ll also be in a prime position to contribute creatively as a member of a small team iterating rapidly on core gameplay. Longer term you’ll also help the team establish technical standards and direction as well as ensure feature and system performance, stability, and maintainability.
Ruckus Games is a fully distributed studio, which is our way of saying everyone is working from home. We meet in Discord every working day and roll up our sleeves to make the best game possible.
Ruckus believes in transparent salary bands for employees. When hiring we look at an individual's skills, shipped titles and years in the industry as a guide for the starting salary band within Ruckus. We're listing the bands for the position here, but exceptional individuals with more experience could be in a higher band.
