Ruckus Games is seeking a passionate and experienced Community / Public Relations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three-five years of experience in public relations, community management, or user engagement. We value charisma, thoughtfulness, and an outgoing nature. You should be eager to expand your skillset and embrace new challenges. We believe in fostering a team of highly talented generalists who contribute wherever needed to drive our studio’s success. As a key “face” and “voice” of the studio, you should be comfortable on camera and adept at public speaking, with a proven track record in these areas. Familiarity with the content creator and streaming communities is highly desirable.

Ruckus Games is a fully distributed studio, which is our way of saying everyone is working from home. We meet in Discord every working day and roll up our sleeves to make the best game possible.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a comprehensive strategy and schedule for announcements and community engagement from hire to launch and then into post-launch.
  • Gather and create marketing materials (communications, pictures, videos, etc.) for dissemination on social media.
  • Work with the business director to maintain the budget for external spending needs.
  • Manage social media outlets and external communication.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends for maximizing player engagement.
  • Draft and edit external communications.
  • Update all social media platforms regularly, as determined by project needs.
  • Run internal team playtests and collect feedback.
  • Maintain lists of Pre-Alpha, Alpha, and Beta testers.
  • Managing and grow relationships with content creator / streaming community
  • Organize and run external user tests, including gathering feedback.
  • Engage and collaborate with the publisher on marketing plans.
  • Organize team social functions, from weekly gaming sessions to annual retreats.
  • Other responsibilities as required by leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three-five years of experience in public relations, community management, streaming or user engagement.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Charismatic, thoughtful, and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to various aspects of studio operations.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude that motivates the team.
  • You must be an avid gamer and able to communicate with gamers well.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Discord, TikTok, MailChimp, Twitch and YouTube.
  • Familiarity with the content creator and streaming communities.
  • Comfortable on camera and experienced in public speaking.

Salary Information

Ruckus believes in transparent salary bands for employees. When hiring we look at an individual's skills and years in the industry as a guide for the salary band within Ruckus.

  • $80,000 to $140,000 depending upon experience and qualifications
